Hello! My name is Ede. I am the founder and owner of Cloudsteps.
I wanted to give my husband’s father socks for Christmas. There’s nothing unusual about this wish, but I couldn’t find the kind of socks I wanted to give. My father-in-law had a stroke 20 years ago, which resulted in one side of his body being paralysed and his feet becoming very swollen. I was looking for socks that would be safe and comfortable for him to move around in – socks that wouldn’t constrict and also wouldn’t slip on the floor. I couldn’t find such socks.
Upon closer investigation, it became clear that this problem is familiar to many people: when feet are swollen, tired, sore, or troubled by oedema or diabetes, even something as simple as putting on socks becomes a daily torment. Ordinary socks constrict, cut deeply into the calf, and leave painful red marks by evening.
Everyone deserves to feel that their step is light and free – without discomfort or constriction.
From this need, Cloudsteps was born.
My goal was to create a shop where you don’t have to search endlessly for the right product or doubt its quality, but where you can immediately find the best socks, specifically designed for wide and/or swollen feet. Socks that don’t hurt your feet, but instead offer them soft and caring support.
We have selected brands for our e-shop that are recognised worldwide and sell products developed in collaboration with foot care specialists (such as IOMI Footnurse), which use special knitting technology in the manufacture of socks: they are extra wide, extremely stretchy, without constricting elastic, and with completely flat toe seams, making them very foot-friendly.
My father-in-law wears them and raves about them 🙂
